About Private Counseling in Dalton, GA

     I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 35 years of experience in private counseling in Dalton, Georgia. I have spent the past 22 years in a private practice setting where I have counseled individuals, couples, and families. It has been my privilege to journey with others as they discover new pathways in the healing of past wounds, in developing healthy patterns of thinking and living for the present, and in finding hope for the future. I have seen marriages restored, families reconciled, and engaged couples prepared for a lifelong journey together. I have helped individuals through periods of depression, anxiety, grief, and other challenging times in their lives.      In addition to private practice, I have worked in the medical field supporting and guiding patients as they adjust to various medical diagnoses. Some of those diagnoses include cancer, chronic pain, renal failure, and cardiac disease. One of my passions is oncology, having dealt with breast cancer myself. I also offer grief counseling to terminally ill patients and to the families of those who have lost a loved one.

 

     As a licensed clinical social worker, I am trained in many different types of therapeutic approaches, such as cognitive behavioral therapy, family systems, brief solution therapy, and Christian counseling.
